Boney Kapoor On Guiding Late Wife Sridevi In Her Bollywood Career; Filmmaker Says, ‘It Was My Job And My Duty’
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor has established himself in the entertainment industry by producing many credible and classic films. Having made his acting debut with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, he recently opened up about his journey in Bollywood, his late wife, actress Sridevi and his relationship with his family members. He even shed light on how he has guided his family members in the career. 

Talking about the same, in a conversation with The New Indian, he revealed how over the years he has helped his brothers Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, his kids Arjun, Janhvi, Anshula, Khushi and even his late wife Sridevi build their careers. He expressed how it was his duty to help them, as it would not only benefit them but him and the family as well. Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, the 67-year-old filmmaker said, “I thought it was my job and my duty, and I did that thinking that I was doing it for myself. If I guided Anil, it was not just for him, it was for us. If I guided Sri, it was not just for her, it was for us. Further in the conversation, when asked if he has received an equal amount of love he has given people, Kapoor mentioned that he doesn’t believe in the barter system. Stressing on the fact that love is always a two-way street and if that weren a case then there would have not been a relationship. He concluded by saying that he has received immense love from his loved ones. 

In the same interview, Boney had also made shocking revelations about Sridevi being on a strict diet which affected her health a lot, to the point where she suffered blackouts which led to her untimely death. For the unversed, the late actress married the producer at the peak of her career. She proudly brought up both her daughters Janhvi and Khushi. While the elder sibling has established herself as a credible actor, the younger one will soon make her much awaited debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.
